FAVOURITE BASICS ft. Muubaa, April 77 denim & Minnetonka

Recently, I've been reaching for a few default items that have become my favourite everyday basics:

Burgundy leather jacket from Muubaa (ordered from the Cocosa website who are an absolute dream to shop with. Speedy delivery and gorgeous packaging. SHOUTOUT.)

T-shirt from Armani Exchange (Check out their sale - they do awesome jeggings)

Bag from Gucci (via Susie Bubble, sold to me for a tenner at the BLOGGERS YARD SALE that we were both a part of.

Jeans from a very cool brand called April 77 who also dabble in music. These jeans come with a guitar plectrum in a built in plectrum pocket - adorable.

Lastly, my tan Minnetonka fringed ankle boots.

What items have you been reaching for everyday?

CHINESE NEW YEAR: DECORATE YOUR MALL

I hope you guys are getting a really good idea of what Hong Kong is like during the Chinese New Year period :) Even as a local I am finding the experience to be exhilarating and over-the-top and it is making me fall in love with the city all over again.

Hong Kong has been pulling out all the stops with their Chinese New Year decorations:

PACIFIC PLACE

Pretty blossoms and water & bridge features dotted throughout the shopping mall

IFC

A traditional Chinese New Year bonanza with lots of hidden lucky "spots". For instance, if you stand in front of that waterfall light display, you stand directly on a lucky spot on the floor which will enrich you with Chinese New Year happiness :)

THE LANDMARK

A fully moving, over-the-top, all-moving, all-dancing Parisian themed puppet show of epic proportions. You have to see this to believe it!!!!

And this is a little corner of my favourite shopping area, tucked away in the old HMV location in Landmark :)

I hope you're not all HongKong-ed out :)
I just have so many pictures from this vibrant little city that I want to share with you all!

Love,
Geisha

SNAPSHOTS III

SNAPSHOTS OF HONG KONG Pt III

1. Back to the UK
I head back to London in mid-February and decided to get a little travel pouch so that I wouldn't misplace my passport the night before I fly. Not that I've done that before.

2. Juiced
Freshly squeezed carrot & apple juice from one of the many streetside juice stalls in Hong Kong.

3. Bright lights, big city
Hong Kong is all about huge buildings and spotlit signs so it was a breath of fresh air to find this little twinkling haven in the middle of our roaring city.

4. Only in Hong Kong

Chinese New Year 2012

SNAPSHOTS OF HONG KONG Pt II

Victoria Park Lunar New Year Night Market
維多利亞公園年宵市場

A buzzing, chaotic and utterly wonderful market in the middle of the city.

Super amused by these chicken drumstick balloons.

Traditional Chinese snacks

A stall selling "dragons beard" candy
Very apt for this year in particular as it is the Year of the Dragon 2012.

Lots and lots and lots of Chinese New Year flowers :)

Orchids
Not strictly traditional but a lovely addition to the house anyway!

Water plants
These spring onion lookalikes blossom with the cutest and beautifully fragrant white flowers.

Miniature orange trees
The kumquat is said to represent luck & prosperity

If you plan to travel to Hong Kong in the future, a visit during Chinese New Year would be a truly unforgettable experience :) I hope you're enjoying coming on this journey with me!
