Improvise

And to think I never bothered to make my pictures larger before. Infinitely clearer! Scarily big, in fact. I'm not sure if I'll keep doing it hahaha. What do you guys think?

I shouldn't be posting at all but the weather was too tempting. I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and catch some sun whilst taking outfit pictures.  The studded dress is a vintage DKNY skirt that I've hiked up and belted and the beaded headband is actually a choker.

Staring lovingly at my Docs.

Hope that you're all having wonderful weekends! :)

Army green

Attempting to blog from my phone! It's such a glorious bank holiday weekend with the sun shining down and it kills me to be sitting indoors studying! I will post the competition prizes on Tuesday when everything re-opens. These giveaways are really fun, I definitely want to do more of them. My sister and I may pop outside later to buy gingerbread men and run around in sandals and floaty dresses. Until then, here's what I wore yesterday to stroll around a nearby park. I will never get sick of these emma cook's and they were a breeze to wear on springy turf!

Z xoxo.

--- Got the TFS invite, thanks guys :)! ---

PPS. I got the army jacket in urban outfitters aaages ago. In the men's section. My (male) friend and I both went clubbing in it once, hah.

Put the boot in

-------------- EDIT -------------

I did it! I actually won something on ebay!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSS. But I didn't get the standard 8-hole with yellow stitching because as Cruz of Denim on Denim (check out his sweet blog) rightly says, I think they're getting a bit too trendy now that everyone and their mum has them. I would just feel like I'm hopping on the bandwagon 5 months too late, haha. I got the proper kick-ass Docs, the ones my sister wore as a kid to brutally kick boys with during football games (I think it was just her... vicious child! Love ya really sis xx).

Do you LIKE?? If you don't.... I don't care because I friggin love them :-)

Although I am thinking... WHY do this pair not have yellow stitching? Does that mean they're fake?! :-( Apparently they are "boys" shoes - does this make a difference???  Any help on this issue would be very welcome.

Doctored

Should I take the plunge? The patent white's aren't getting the love they should be but I'm longing for the classic blacks now that my gap motorcycle boots are growing old. Answers on a postcard. (or a comment).

Good mood giveaway :)

Hello darlings :) Giveaway time!

Feeling good about being almost done with exams so I thought I'd do my first giveaway! Also: Yay 50 posts.

I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to my wonderful readers and commenters.

GIVEAWAY:

A cute little topshop necklace that has been sitting in my jewellery box - it doesn't get the attention it needs so I'm giving it away to a loving home!

To enter: Simply leave a comment on this post with the word "Topshop" somewhere in it :)  Only one entry per person will be used.
I'll draw names out of a hat and announce the winner on the morning (UK time) of friday the 22nd and will hopefully post it that day. I am willing to post worldwide so international bloggers are welcome to enter!

------------------

Please check out my ebay shop where I'm selling loads of my excess shoes... I must own about 200 pairs and the shoe cupboard needs cleaning out! The shop will constantly be updated these few weeks. Please help my boyfriend and I get more feedback so we can start doing buy-it-now's! It's so annoying to be stuck on only 4 feedback :) I'm willing to do pick-ups for London bloggers.

Also.... New blog venture:

WHAT WOULD GEISHA WEAR?

(I'm ALREADY frustrated with ebay. We'll see how this works out)
---------------------

Just to make this a mega giant post: the lovely Stephanie from Ashtray tagged me so here we go!

Seven facts about me:
1. I'm technically chinese but my chinese speaking skills are pretty damn awful. I was born and bred in the UK and my second language
(if you can call it that) is German. Basically, I would starve much, much quicker if I was dropped off in the middle of China than I would in Germany.

2. I adore animals. I love horses and in Hong Kong, I used to spend every weekend at my local stables feeding, cleaning, grooming and basically just living with my favourite horses.

3. I was sent away from home in Hong Kong at the age of 12 to boarding school in the UK (culture shock much?) for 6 years, which were both the best and worst years of my life.

4. I didn't know how to properly put on eye makeup (ie. shadows and shading) until a few months ago. Up till then I just drew a line of eyeliner on my lid and left it at that.

5. I have an irrational fear of shellfish in their shells, whether they are alive or dead. My biggest problem is with prawns, crabs, lobsters and other related nasties with waving antennae and creepy little legs. However, once the shells are peeled off, the legs thrown away and the heads severed, I am perfectly happy to eat the meat. People think I do this on purpose to make other people peel my shellfish for me but I honestly am afraid of their legs/eyes/shells.

6. I am a city girl, through and through. I love the big cities I've visited - Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, Rome, Bangkok... I am useless with mud, terrible with fences and get extreme hayfever with a single sniff of pollen. My boyfriend is a complete country boy.

7. My most recurring dreams always feature lifts, shopping malls and hotels, usually all joined together.

Big love to all you beautiful readers, hope you have a wonderful day!

Tangerine *

How to put together a perfect summer party outfit:

-----------------

Step 1: A feather-light loose jersey dress & high heels.

Step 2: Add a belt

Step 3: Add a comfy jersey biker jacket

Step 4: Ready to go

and in reverse:

All clothing & double strap shoes from: New Look

PS. Anyone interested in the J shoes wedges? They are so beautifully comfortable with cushioned soles and buttery-soft leather straps and are perfect for summer. Please take them off my hands! I hate having new shoes around that don't fit me :( I'm just tempted to rip off the tags and keep them even though they don't fit haha. They need a new home.

London town.

Today marks the beginning of my week of killer exams. Sorry, I know thats all I talk about but its literally all I have time to think about. I had my second one today in Westminster central hall, which is right next to Westminster Abbey. It's usually quite nice to be able to see that area, even if its for exams (sad face) but not today.....

........ Why? Well, this morning, there was a huge Tamil protest going on in response to the humantiarian crisis in Sri Lanka on Parliament Square. Sounds fine but it meant that there were police cars everywhere and people getting arrested for breaking through police barriers so not only was it quite scary but it also meant that I had to literally sprint round the longest route possible with a heavy bag and arrive panting and sweating at my exam :( With no time to gather my thoughts, I think I rushed the paper a little bit. Oh well, that's the stress of London for you!

Sorry for all the moaning, I'll stop now! :) Here's what I wore today.

-------------
Sunglasses - Vintage
Shirt - Kirsty
Dress - Topshop (This is literally become my staple piece - its like an AA dress)
Leggings - New Look
Boots - Dr Martens (I'm obsessed with all of my pairs of Docs. They're amazingly comfortable, not as clunky as the 8-holes/etc and look pretty rad... I think!)

------------------------

Now I literally have to start last-minute revision for my wednesday exam.  Thank you so much for continuing to drop by and put a smile on my face with your comments! It makes this exam existence so much less lonely :). MWAH xx

And thank you for the comforting words about my denim shorts!! I am such a silly billy :) Too attached to my clothes. I've decided the first thing I'm going to do when I get back home is visit all the charity shops in my area to find a replacement!

:(

Put my denim shorts on ebay but decided that I was too attached to them as I bought them in a lovely vintage sale with my boyfriend and had such great fun, so basically I regretted it in the last hour. However, there were no bids or extra views for ages so I thought I'd let it run down until it didn't sell and then SOMEONE BID ON THEM IN THE LAST MINUTE. I CRY. I am such a shitty ebay seller, obviously, as I should have just terminated the auction whilst it had no bids. Now I have to give away my shorts :( :( . I am feeling very upset and overly emotional due to an overdose of haribos and am wallowing in self-pity. Sniff. I hate ebay!

Hippy hippy shake

Flared eva jeans from the Topshop sale :)

Worn with creepers, Kirsty's scarf and a Kate Moss for Topshop tank top (the only redeeming feature of her collections so far, in my opinion!). I wore this with.... my pink leather jacket. OTT? Hahaha.

Lovvvvvve this scarf. It is as long and drapey as promised!

Swish swish :)
Have to get back to revision/watching BBC iPlayer now!
Will answer comments when the bulk of exams are done on the 17th. Thank you for all your lovely lovely comments you guys are literally getting me through this stressful period :)

Daisychain goodies

I looooove getting presents in the mail :)
Laura's edible competition prize came in the post a few days ago..... along with a gorgeous necklace!!!! (Which I matched my eyeshadow to... ahem, procrastination)

I absolutely adore the huge pendant and the delicate gold chain which is exactly the right length (don't you hate it when they're too long or short?). You can't really see that well in my crappy pictures but the round dark brown bits are actually wooden! So rustic. Here I am clutching my goodies like a 10 yr old and looking at the sweet card she sent with it.

Yup...... I already ate one in my exam this morning haha. Always comforting to have a sweet treat before 3 and a half hours of mad essay writing!

---------------

I'll be behind on comments for a while :( Life-defining exams continue next week on monday, tuesday and friday. Thank you for your comments on the last post, doing those jumping shots was so much fun!

PS. I cannot stop watching this video. Noot has the best wardrobe ever.

Back to basics.

5 hours ago: Topshop tweets about this jacket.

Now: Sizes 10 and 12 are sold out. Crazy! Its an amazing jacket though... I too am taken in by the "perfect" combination of white leather and studding, although I'd prefer if the studs were silver.

Do you think we're brainwashed by Topshop?? :( I mean it was only in the early 1990s when Topshop was really uncool, unfashionable and badly-made etc.

But there's no doubt about it... Their re-marketing, re-branding and re-invention strategy has really worked. Topshop is slowly but surely taking over the world....

-------------------------------------------

Moving onto my outfit... or lack thereof as I didn't actually leave my flat today. First exam is on friday and I'm utterly terrified! Let the cramming begin. But of course I'm managing to update my blog amidst the panic :)

Since I didn't leave the flat, comfort was highest priority!

Another topshop sale purchase: These adorable plimsolls with an inked brogue-style pattern all over it. Perfect summer footwear.

Bought a new tripod for my boyfriend :) But he said that part of the reason why I bought it for him was so he can take better pictures for the blog.... ahem... me? Never :)

---------
Cut out dress - Topshop
Amazingly soft cardigan - Zara
Socks - Market in Hong Kong
Shoes - Topshop
Necklace - Barcelona

Hugs and kisses to my readers and lovely commenters :)

(Yup... Someone took geisharock! Sniff.)

London May Day march

-----------------------

Outfit of the day - It's all rainy again :(

The boots are an amazon purchase from a while back. I love how clunky they are and the wedge heel means they are so comfortable.

------------------------
Pashmina: Hong Kong
Belt: Uniqlo
Top (underneath waistcoat): Gap
Waistcoat: Zara
Jeans: Uniqlo (I want to slash these)
Boots: Dr Martens (amazon addiction)
Bag: United Colours of Benetton (amazingly soft and slouchy. and it matches my new boots!)
------------------------

In other news (widest interpretation of the word), I logged into my NEOPETS account yesterday. That is the level of procrastination I am willing to stoop to in order to avoid more studying. Was not impressed because my account has been open for about 9 years and the neopets I have still aren't interactive. They are still just pictures that sit there looking unhappy if they are dying (mine are).

If you didn't play neopets you will have no idea what I'm talking about and I just upped my loser score by about 530 points. It was cool when I was 12, yeah?

THE NEOPIAN MARKETPLACE.
I just realised they have a McDonalds shop - that is kind of hilarious.

Exams start next week... I really should stop blogging so often!
