April showers.

Why is it raining again? :( Just when I thought the weather was getting nice!

Although I bought this dress ages ago, it kinda reminds me of Henry Holland's pantone collection, which I thought was a really neat idea. I actually met the man himself whilst gay clubbing, he was super sweet and we chatted about whether I'd been here before (I hadn't and neither had he), whether I was enjoying myself and then he gave me a hug and kiss goodbye. He smelt really nice and his flannel/plaid shirt was sooooooo soft. I need some of his fabric softener. LOL major tangent. Here's a pic of him and the (slightly too?) ubiquitus Agyness Deyn/Laura Hollins.

Other bits of the outfit:
I wore the black version of my dark brown Dr Marten toki boots. Only £24 on amazon and now I have all the boots I will ever need....... seriously.
Except for the Emma cook ones!!!!! Anyone who is sick of their size 37/38 ones are very welcome to contact me to take them off their hands! :)

Thank you for the comments :) I'm a little afraid of DIY actually, because whenever I cut/tear/rip/shred things it usually ends up going wrong and I end up in tears and my mum usually offers to sew it back up again with a here-we-go-again look on her face, hahaha.

My boyfriend isn't here to take my pictures for me :( Hence the glum face! What do you guys do when you feel lonely and the weather is crap? I'm tempted to guzzle the Ben & Jerry's "Half baked" that is sitting in my freezer...!

For sale

Incidentally, I'm selling a pair of boots on ebay (click for link) that have been sitting in my cupboard for a while- I bought 2 pairs of them online to make sure I got the right size and forgot to return this pair.

These are a true size 5 (i.e. too big for my size 4-4.5 feet). My size 4's have been majorly comfy for clubbing and stand up great to having beer spilled all over them. Just saying. xoxo

Parklife

Hello lovelies,

I'm impatiently waiting for my packages to arrive!!! Haha, this is the problem with online shopping - there isn't the same INSTANT GRATIFICATION feeling that you get when shopping :P

Oh well. It's hardcore revision time which means comfort food and slobbing out all round. I literally don't go outside unless its to the supermarket, so real-life shopping is not an option! This is what I wore today to go... you guessed it, food shopping.

Although I could be on my way to a very cool, underground gig. Yes I could. (Just allow me to pretend I have a life).

(My boyfriend told me to do my laces up)

A window frame picture. Don't say I don't spoil you!

Hat - Zara Men
Top - AA pocket skirt
Belt - Uniqlo
Denim shorts - Vintage
Boots - Vintage

I'm thinking of cutting these shorts shorter and doing a Shini DIY. Yes, no?

Thank you for all the great comments on the last post. You guys really helped ease the guilt on those purchases ;) I will be sure to show and tell when they arrive!

I can resist everything, except temptation.

I'm such a bad girl....

In 2 words: TOPSHOP HAUL.

Ye shall see the rewards of my frantic clicking, um-ing and ah-ing and eventual purchasing soon enough. I must say, by the time I actually decided to buy stuff, loads of stuff was already gone! People are quick shoppers.

Elisabeth, I blame you! :) (Just kidding, thanks for the heads up!) - You should all check out her blog and see the amazing purchases she made (suede zippered skirt... ahhhh).

I thought hard about my purchases for once and bought items that were basic pieces that would fit into my wardrobe seamlessly, but had that little topshop edge.

Does anyone else close their eyes when they press the "Complete transaction and buy your bloody stuff already" button? I think it's a guilt thing, haha.

One of the items that is winging its way over to me. Slouchy silky zippered goodness.

Edit: These babies on Lulu's shop were so close to being mine :( :( :( :(

I'm dying for a shoe like this - huge platform, black, unashamedly clunky.... Well, you know the call - Anything close to those infamously-owned-by-MK balenciaga fall 2006 harness boots. I know its an obvious obsession but you wouldn't exactly throw them out of bed, would you?...

No, you wouldn't.

House of the Rising Sun

Such lovely weather today! I wore this to the supermarkt and bought these new shoes on the way..... :-)
(Yes I have no self-control. It's called retail therapy during exams.)

I got this vintage denim jacket from the same place as my vintage boots. I lost my old one so I'm glad I found this one - definitely will be a central piece in the summer wardrobe.

I wear this necklace all the time haha. Must buy another similar one to wean myself off this one... It compliments simple outfits really well, I think.

---------------------------
Tee - Cotton On
Bandage Skirt - I almost don't want to give this away...
....NEW LOOK - You'd be surprised! The jersey is much thicker than the AA versions and it's only 8 squid.
Necklace - H&M
Shoes - New Look again (it's really nearby!!)

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last outfit and thank for your wishes of good luck!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hello lovely bloggers :) Thank you for all your wonderful comments!

I'm glad you all are excited about friendship bracelets too! When I go back to Hong Kong this summer I will buy out all the colourful string from the ladies in the street markets and make loads of them to decorate myself with (and maybe my friends, if they buy into the trend haha). I may even toy with a friendship necklace.... or a belt.... the possibilities are endless!

I spent a nice day in the sun with my mum today, we had a little walk around the shops in my area and ate a huge lunch at an asian fusion restaurant.

I broke out my platform shoes and wide-brimmed hat :) Inspired by Audrey of course!

I'm actually wearing two skirts - tried to make a peplum effect :)
Can you see at all? A rah-rah skirt over an AA pocket jersey skirt.

Sad story: I actually scored the khaki-green Emma Cook boots that the blogosphere (including me!) were in love with but they didn't fit my feet properly at all and I had to return them. When I saw these chunky monkeys, I thought they looked kinda similar? I love them anyway. They are UNNATURALLY comfortable.

Hat - H & M
Cashmere Cardi - Zara
Necklace - Mum <3
Rah rah skirt - Topshop
Skirt underneath - AA pocket
Shoes - Topshop

I'm going to apologise in advance if my posts become very sporadic. I have MAJOR exams coming up in a few weeks and I really need to do well. They basically determine my career :(

But never fear - I shall be back with a renewed enthusiasm when they are done!

Much love to ya'll :)

Throwback

I miss early teenage years. This summer I intend to bring back a few old trends:

CHARM BRACELETS/ANKLETS
-amazon

FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS

-ehow.com

FLARED JEANS

-warehouse

&... VINTAGE NOVELTY-esque TEES. I think this one is the bomb. Mario!!
Would love to slash the sleeves off and wear it loose with cut-offs on the beach.

-retroclobber.co.uk
-----------------------------------

What other trends would you like to see come back around?

I actually read somewhere that fashion repeats itself every 20 or so years...
Which is funny because this summer is all about the 80s, right? Hmmmm!

Thank you for your lovely comments :)

Spanish Eyes

Hello darlings!

I got these looong beaded necklaces from a tiny alleyway shop in Barcelona. The guy who owned the shop was such a cutie. They have little beads that kinda look like swirly eyes at various points on the necklace.

I got tired of double looping them round my neck so I decided I would try wearing them differently over a simple white tee :)

Here we go again with the hair flicks. I will succeed, someday!

Doing a little dancey-poo.

Front

... and Back! I wore my leather jacket over this ensemble.

These shoes are SO comfortable. I can literally run around town for hours in these.
Yeahhh they're SATC knock-offs, don't judge!

T-shirt: Zara
Jeans: Random shop in HK

Thank you for your lovely comments everyone! I'm so tempted with the creepers. I looked up "brothel creepers" on Wikipedia and found it hilarious how they got their name.

Basically, ex-servicemen used to wear them in war because of the thick soles but when they came to London, they were seen wearing them when they hit up Soho/King's Cross/various seedy areas. Hence, "brothel creepers"!

Had an interview recently... stressful stuff!!! Can't wait until exams/etc are all over!

Kuesschen,

Home Sweet Home

Still relaxing at home :)

Got my darling little sister to snap a few photos. The first family member to be told about my blog! Me and her are like twiddle dee and twiddle dum anyway so she had to be the first!

Oh I got a haircut.. just a little trim but its going kinda crazy on me today so excuse the bad hair!

Gladiator heels.... mmm zips mmm patent leather. These are weirdly comfy as well - a little platform and a soft sole do wonders.

Have busted out the pastel pink leather jacket with a pimpin' fur hood. Its buttery soft and I love it! When I got I thought it was too cutesy so its been in storage for a while.

-------------------------------------------------------
  • Dress - Random store in Hong Kong (I love the little floral motif round the hem!)
  • Jacket - Lambourghini (Yes, they have a clothes line. No, it's not as tacky as you'd think it would be! They have some nice shirts and loads of gorgeous leather jackets)
  • Eggplant-coloured tights - Market in Hong Kong
  • Gladiator heels - China
A very international outfit today! Not a high street store in sight :)
-------------------------------------------------------
My sister painted her fingernails CRAAAAAZILY. I was very amused. Here they are in all their splendour and wonder and amazement. Be nice ya'll.

Here's where she got the tutorial:

Hope you all had a lovely easter weekend!
