MELLOW YELLOW

Things to do in 2010:

Match your outfit to your curtains

I found these PERFECT over-the-knee boots.

BUT as much as I love the tasselled detail, I'm thinking of cutting them off - they're slightly impractical as they swish around in an obnoxious, swashbuckling and generally uncontrollable manner when I walk.

(A guy came up to me in my university union and earnestly asked me if they were my "pirate dress up" boots)

Top: Heattech from Uniqlo
Skirt: Mango
Leather jacket: Topshop
Hat: Gap kids

SATIN TAUPE

Topshop dress:

Subtle shoulder pads
Long, long sleeves
Do-I-hate-it-or-love-it slate grey colour
Intruiging calf-length skirt
Very warm and snuggly
What do we think?
Grossly unflattering or weirdly appealing?

I know that it was the latter answer for me when I saw it slumped woefully on a rail. I actually bought 2 with the hope of DIY-ing the crap out of the other one (or even both!) but I wanted to show the dress here in its unadulterated form.

This outfit is DEFINITELY more monochrome than I would actually wear it during the day but like I said, I wanted to show you the dress, pure and simple.

Studded jersey layered necklace - UO
Studded bag - Topshop
Ankle boots - New Look

EDIT EDIT EDIT
Just made a polyvore to show you guys what I would pair the dress with:

PS. David Walliams and Lara Stone are now engaged. Awww.... !

SHE'S MY CHERRY PIE

I know this is seriously old news but...

Lara Stone...

is dating David Walliams???

An unlikely pairing in my opinion!

But maybe I'm just too besotted with the gorgeous Bardot-lookalike Lara and I'm jealous ;-)

....OR maybe I've just watched too much Little Britain and cannot take this man seriously!

-------------------------------------

Anyway, I have another shoe-related question to ask you - my lovely discerning fashionable fellow bloggers.

I have bought these:

But I am wondering whether I should have bought these:

Thoughts?

Which will be more useful generally? I'm torn. I know the boots are the practical choice but I've wanted those high heel hiking boots for ages. But I've also wanted the bottom pair for ages. Spring/Summer might suit the flat ankle boots better? Although the heels would also last me. Maybe I should just buy both... If only I had the funds!!

Hugs & kisses,

STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER

When it's summer, I can't wait for winter.

Now it's winter, I'm craving spring.

How crazy stupid amazing is H&M's spring collection?
I've not been in the store recently but this is GOOD.

This red dress is sheer perfection: Raspberry sherbert, MAC Lady Danger lipstick, handfuls of Glace cherries, pastel-coloured footwear, delicate silver jewellery and daisy chains woven through flowing, tousled hair.
It's mine.
