london fashion weekend - what i bought

Hello lovelies!

I'm SO overdue with this post! Sorry, I've been such a bad blogger :) I've been commuting between different towns for the past few months and I've hardly had any time to sit down and read blogs let alone update my own :( But things have settled back down to normal now and I've squeezed in time for a London Fashion Weekend update!

The post title is referring to the fact that I simply cannot stop wearing black! The weather has started to perk up and spring is on its way but I'm so attached to my monochromatic wardrobe... is anyone having the same problem??

----------------------

London Fashion Weekend purchases:

Firstly, this cute bag that I thought would help ease me into springtime - I love the woven detail in the handle and the grey rope gives it a nautical vibe.

Secondly, this adorable relaxed waisted miniskirt in a light summery denim - its super comfortable and came with the cutest label:

Thirdly and Fourthly, this adorable purple glittery wallet (with equally sparkly green lining, yay!) and navy blue patent make-up bag from Anna Lou of London.

Also, just wanted to show you guys 2 things that I bought and returned:

(a) These green skinny army pants from Topshop - they looked amazing and are SO on trend but after wearing them indoors for an hour, I had DEEP imprints of the sewing detail on my kneecaps/thighs/etc and it hurt!! Not well thought out.. they need a lining or something.

(b) These insane-in-the-membrane wedge shoes from New Rock - they turned out to be a little more insane than they looked in the photo online and they also made my toes numb after wearing them for a few hours SITTING DOWN.. I don't think these are made for my feet!

GIVEAWAY - Reebok EasyTone shoes and kit!

This awesome giveaway presented to you by GEISHAROCK with the help of:

I'm sure you will all have seen some sort of variation on these adverts in your favourite magazines and gazed enviously at her effortlessly summer-ready body...

Time to wake up and stop dreaming because Reebok has kindly given one of my readers the opportunity to be a trialist of their new EasyTone(tm) shoes!

What's the hype all about? Well, I'll take their description from the Reebok website first:

---------------------------------------------

Look out, sharp curves ahead.

The EasyTone Curve, built on Reebok’s patented muscle-toning sole technology, creates a slight instability, much like walking on sand.

They encourage toning through increased muscle activation in three key areas of the leg: the gluteus maximus, hamstrings and calves. Up to 28%, in fact.

Like we said, sharp curves ahead.
  • EasyTone balance pod technology encourages up to 11% more toning in the hamstrings and calves, and up to 28% in the glutes

  • Synthetic/mesh upper for comfort, support and breathability

  • Dual density medial post provides superior stability, while adjustable heel strap reduces heel slippage

  • SmoothFit design ensures minimal rub and ultimate comfort

---------------------------------------------

Another example of a pair of EasyTone gym shoes.

And DEFINITELY have a look at their super-techie EasyTone microsite which has a cool interactive video of a girl going through her day with her EasyTones.

Watch the TV clips for more inspiration and information :)

---------------------------------------------

What's so special about EasyTones (in my humble opinion)?

Reebok has developed these shoes to help us all tone up for summer! Studies have shown that the balance ball-inspired technology at the heel and forefoot of the shoe give the effect of walking on soft ground and this encourages increased gluteal, hamstring and calves muscle activity.

To cut a long story short, these shoes will help tone up your butt, legs and calves!

...Or as Reebok say themselves:
"Better legs and a better butt with every step"

---------------------------------------------

THE GIVEAWAY
(what ya'll have been reading for)

Reebok has given me the opportunity to give away a trialist kit to one of my readers!

This kit will include a pair of EasyTone trainers and a training kit which includes a 2 gym tops (one tank top style and one zip up/hoodie style), a pair of gym pants, a gym bag and a pedometer.

Unfortunately for overseas readers, this is only open to UK readers & those from the Republic of Ireland.

All you need to do to enter is:

(a) Follow me - Google friend connect, bloglovin' or just via your blogroll.

(b) Leave a comment under this entry with your email address OR send me an email with "Reebok competition" in the subject line at lebilletdoux (at) gmail (dot) com - I would love it if you could share what your favourite type of workout/exercise is too!

(P.S. If you leave your email address in the form geisha (at) gmail (dot) com, rather than geisha@gmail.com, you're less likely to get spam mail)

---------------------------------------------

Once I randomly select a winner (who will be trialing the EasyTone shoes and kit along with me), I will send you details of how to sign up on the Reebok EasyTone website and how to get your trialist kit!

The idea is to give Reebok feedback on how you feel about the Easytone shoes and they have been so generous to give us bloggers the opportunity to try them out.

A huge thank you to Reebok and all the lovely people who have contacted me about this opportunity!

LONDON FASHION WEEKEND

I was so bummed out to have missed out on London Fashion Week itself (I intend to go next year and nothing will stop me!! I've missed it enough times) but I made it to London Fashion Weekend with my sister, the shopping event that takes place the weekend after LFW at the same venue (Somerset House).

It's basically a huge sample sale where you can buy clothes, shoes and accessories from a variety of designers from Vivienne Westwood to Mawi to DKNY to Juicy Couture. I snapped a few crappy pictures on my phones camera (bad blogger!) to document my day. I'll post my purchases and a few more photos next update!

-----------------------------

A gorgeous khaki trench with insane embellishment

A nubbly, snuggly, alpaca cardigan.. I would've bought this but I have to tell myself that spring/summer is coming and I need to focus on that wardrobe now!

All Saints-style necklaces - totally DIYable with a few keys and a couple of chains. Go forth and create, fellow bloggers! :)

This crazy gladiator ankle boot thingy mesmerised me for a good 3 minutes. Soooo impractical.

Patent clutches and cute kitschy necklaces from Anna Lou of London - this place has the most amazing range of accessories (and one of my purchases came from here!).

Lungta de Fancy - A korean/japanese (not sure which) designed & British made line that made this crazy/sexy/cool tinselly purple body-con dress! Tempted by this too BUT I just ordered a T by Alexander Wang purple body-con dress and can't justify another!

A few miscellaneous shots of Somerset house:

One of my purchases was this waisted baby blue "workers skirt" from American Retro (I think)! Tried it on and couldn't push through the crowd to a mirror so I got my sister to snap a few pictures of it. Can't wait to wear it in summer with little tank tops and corset bras.

Happy after a day of shopping!

Sister moved backwards to include the full pile of our bags on the floor... sooo exhausted!

Hugs and kisses,
Geisha xoxo
